Overview
Morupule Coal Mine (MCM) is a world-class opencast and underground coal mining company that processes coal primarily for electricity generation in Botswana. MCM is expanding its operations into the export market and seeks a Training Officer – Mining to support the execution of its bold and ambitious strategy. This role is critical in ensuring the effective development and implementation of training programs to enhance workforce competency and operational safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate mining-related training programs.
- Conduct competency assessments and skills development for mining personnel.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety regulations and training standards.
- Maintain training records and prepare reports on workforce development progress.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to employees to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with management to identify training needs and implement relevant programs.
Requirements and Skills
- A relevant qualification in Mining Engineering, Training & Development, or a related field.
- Proven experience in training and development within a mining environment.
- Strong knowledge of underground and opencast mining operations.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and training compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a demanding underground mining environment.
