Overview
Quantum Foods (Pty) Ltd. is seeking a skilled and reliable Driver (Code 10) to join our dynamic team at one of our Packstations. The successful candidate will be based at our Port Elizabeth offices in Thornhill, Eastern Cape, reporting directly to the Distribution Manager. This role is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver loads safely, completely, and on time.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safekeeping of the vehicle, including all equipment and fittings.
- Secure products properly to prevent damage during transportation.
- Report and document any product damages during loading or offloading.
- Manage the weight distribution of the truck when loading products.
- Conduct daily truck inspections for safety and maintenance needs.
- Accurately record and report truck inspections before departure.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safe driving protocols.
- Complete all required documentation accurately.
- Report variances identified before leaving a customer location.
Requirements and Skills
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) / Senior Certificate.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience.
- Licensing: Valid Code 10 (C1) license with valid PDP and a valid medical certificate.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Safe driving record.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Sound mathematical ability.
- Clear criminal record.
- Physically and medically fit.
- Sober habits.
- Reliable transport to and from work.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
